Nitin Srivastava

Nitin Srivastava has taken over as the Editor of BBC News Hindi after a successful stint as a bilingual correspondent for the Indian Languages operations. He manages a team of around 50 journalists.

Nitin started his career as a Reporter with Star News and joined the BBC World Service as a Producer (News) in 2006. During his time at the BBC, he did various roles, including a Desk Editor, Bilingual Correspondent and worked with London Central Reporting teams on attachments.

He covered India and every continent in his career spanning two decades. He reported from conflict zones like the Syrian borders, Somalia, Kenya, Myanmar, Bangladesh, North Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and Russia, and covered crucial political developments and elections in Europe, Australia, South Asia and the Middle East. Known for his creativity, strong editorial judgement and in-depth journalism, Nitin has been one of the early few reporters on the ground who covered natural disasters and humanitarian crises like the Turkey and Nepal earthquakes and the exodus of millions of Rohingya refugees to Bangladesh for the BBC.
