Shruti has been with the BBC for almost 15 years, and she attributes her professional growth to several roles and the diversity of people they came with.

She has worked as a creative journalist for a decade on traditional and digital platforms with specialist knowledge of Asia before leading on training and development of BBC World Service Languages staff based in multiple bureaux.

Shruti is committed to nurturing diverse talent.

As the Asia Training Manager, she successfully launched the BBC's first international academic internship programme in India. She also led a pilot Delhi Hot Shoes, a local version of the BBC Hot Shoes scheme, to offer development opportunities to existing staff.

She further led and delivered the very successful Trainee Schemes, specifically under Diversity and Inclusion, and regularly held career workshops for potential external recruits with the aim of supporting students and journalists from marginalised and underrepresented communities in India.
