Kiran Chahal

Kiran Chahal is a seasoned HR professional with 16 years of global experience supporting businesses across Asia Pacific, Middle East North Africa, Turkey, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. She brings a wealth of HR experience working with established as well as startup companies in the Technology, EPC and Media industries.

While working with the BBC and managing a workforce in 30+ different countries with cultural and legislative differences, she played a key role in organisational restructuring, conflict management, union negotiations, organisation culture, leadership development and diversity & inclusion.

In addition to planning and implementing HR strategies, she also supported complex people and hostile situations from the coup in Myanmar to the war in Gaza. Working closely with business stakeholders and in liaison with other support functions viz legal, finance, high risk, operations etc, she played a major role in the evacuation of employees in Sudan and Gaza.

Before joining the BBC, she worked with startups playing a pivotal role in building the HR department from scratch and contributing to the organisational growth through recruitment and best practices.

Whilst she refers to herself as a ‘people’s person’, she brings business acumen and operational knowledge to the table ensuring added value to the overall business principles in terms of cost, market and resources.

Outside of her professional circle, Kiran is an avid traveller who enjoys visiting different places in India and other countries, and experiencing diverse cultures and landscapes.
